Help Women in Recovery
Hopeful Solutions is a DFW non-profit helping women in recovery. We work closely with community partners and the criminal justice system to ensure our families receive housing and support, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and workforce training and education.
We help women in recovery conquer their drug addiction and reunite them with their family by providing the necessary assistance and support.
Why Hopeful Solutions Matters
Housing is the First Step to Recovery
Up to 60% of women leaving residential substance use treatment face homelessness or unstable housing within six months (NIDA, 2022). That’s why our Jump Start Program provides 6–9 months of emergency transitional housing, giving single mothers a safe place to heal while building the skills for long-term stability.
Preventing Relapse Through Stability
Without safe housing, women are 3–4 times more likely to relapse within a year (SAMHSA, 2021). Our New Directions Program ensures continued recovery support, life skills training, and financial management so mothers can maintain sobriety and provide a secure home for their children.
Protecting Children from Cycles of Instability
48% of mothers become homeless or unstably housed within three months of completing treatment (Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, 2020). Our Out and About Program offers recreational and therapeutic activities that strengthen family bonds and help children feel safe, loved, and supported—breaking cycles of trauma.
Breaking the Link Between Insecurity and Unsafe Environments
Over 75% of women without housing support after treatment enter unsafe or unstable environments (NLIHC, 2023). Hopeful Solutions bridges this gap with wraparound services—mental health treatment, counseling, basic needs assistance, and peer recovery coaching—ensuring families don’t fall back into harm’s way.
Reducing the High Relapse Risk for Single Mothers
Relapse rates for individuals with SUDs are 60–80% within six months—and even higher for single mothers without stable housing (NIDA). By combining housing, recovery coaching, and essential supplies like food, diapers, and hygiene products, we lower those odds and give mothers a fighting chance to rebuild their lives.
