Help Domestic Violence Victims

Hopeful solutions is a Dallas non-profit working to help domestic violence victims. Domestic violence is one of the primary causes of homelessness for women and their children in the United States. Safe and affordable housing is one of the primary hurdles mothers and their children will face when leaving an abusive situation. We help domestic violence victims on a referral basis and provide housing and assistance to them and their children.

Domestic violence and substance abuse are intimately linked and often occur simultaneously. In many cases one is a symptom of the other. Many women who are victims of abuse often develop PTSD, anxiety and/or depression and turn to substances as a way to cope with these issues and self-medicate their pain. Women who experience domestic violence are more likely to suffer from substance abuse compared to women who have never experienced domestic violence or assault.
